Itinerary
2003 would present a unique problem for the trip planning process since Mike was getting married in July. Fortunately, the wedding was in Vegas and that provided an opportunity for a west coast ballpark trip leading into the wedding. Since everone on the trip was invited to the wedding, we were able to kill 2 birds with one stone. Mike's fiance and Lumpy's wife made arrangements to fly out together and meet up with everyone else in Vegas.
We were only able to work 3 teams into this trip: Giants, Dodgers and Padres, but we also added Tijuana and, of course, Vegas, to our destination list. Since Ed lives in the Bay Area we were able to use his house as a meeting place and head out from there. Mike, Lumpy and Bill took the same flight out of NYC together while Justin left from D.C.
Day 1: Arrive in Oakland/San Francisco, sightsee in San Francisco. Spend the night at Ed's.
Day 2: Giants afternoon game, more sightseeing in San Francisco. Spend the night at Ed's.
Day 3: Drive to L.A., see the Dodgers night game, meet up with Nowell afterwards. Spend the night in a hotel in L.A.
Day 4: Drive to San Diego, tailgate at Qualcomm for the Padres night game. Stay in a hotel in San Diego.
Day 5: Spend the afternoon in Tijuana, drive to Vegas in the evening.
