Itinerary

In 2004, our trip planning began to take a more adventurous twist. We had previously struggled with the idea of working Coors and Safeco into a road trip and figured that we would just have to hit them solo and, perhaps, just do a multi-day trip in Denver or Seattle rather than attempting to work them in with other destinations. Rather than be a bunch of cry babbies about sitting in a car all day, we decided to hit Coors and Safeco in the same trip! We had a friend from school, Scooter, who lived outside Denver so that made for a great meeting spot. We'd be down to four travelers for this trip which worked out well since we were able to use Ed's Blazer for transportation, but this meant that Ed and Lumpy would be driving out to Denver and back from Seattle rather than flying. Mike and Justin would fly into each spot from the East Coast.

Day 1: Arrive in Denver, play cards in Scooter's basement all night (so as to let his wife and daughter sleep).

Day 2: Tour Boulder, see the Rockies, leave immediately after the game for Vegas.

Day 3: Arrive in Vegas about 8A.M. after almost driving off mountain cliffs in Colorado and Utah in the middle of the night. Gamble all day/night.

Day 4: Shower up and leave Vegas in the morning for Phoenix. See the afternoon D'backs game, head out to Tempe in the evening. Spend the night in Phoenix.

Day 5: Drive through the desert to Anaheim, stop at a Starbucks to e-mail Lumpy's PhD thesis to his professor. See the Angels, immediately leave for Ed's house in the Bay Area.

Day 6: Arrive at Ed's early in the morning, get some rest, head out to the afternoon A's game. Spend the night at Ed's.

Day 7: Get on the road fairly early to make the long haul up to Seattle. get into town early enough to go check out the bar scene.

Day 8: Tour Seattle, catch the Mariners night game, go to some more bars.

Day 9: Mike and Justin fly out of SeaTac, Ed and Lumpy drive back to the Bay Area.
