The Road Trip

So the details of this trip are going to be a little dicey. The roadtrip itself involved leaving directly from the two-hour rain-delayed Rockies game in the middle of the night to cannonball run down to Vegas then on to Phoenix. Maybe it's a little obvious, but more than just details can easily be lost on that trajectory. Without being able to recall who volunteered for the first shift, memories of Justin flying around mountain hairpins at 80 miles/hr still keep some of us up at night. It's remarkable what that city will do. Here's a few curious facts about Las Vegas and Ballpark Roadtrip: 1) in the middle of the desert 2) no MLB ballpark 3) closest MLB ballpark is over 220 miles away (Edison Field in Anaheim) 4)it's the most visited city to date on Ballpark Roadtrip. That's the innovation of our project: all roads can lead to Vegas.

Skipping past this stop in Vegas, we arrived in Phoenix in one piece. Perhaps Mike had the best description of Phoenix in July: "It's like having a hot hairdryer in your face from the minute you step out the door until the minute you step back inside."

Maybe it's the heat, maybe it's the local cuisine, or maybe it's to soak up all the remaining Vegas.
