The Road Trip
We got up early since we had to traverse the entire width of Pennsylvania to get from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia for the day game. Early start + Pennsylvania = uneventful roadtrip. Sorry to disappoint.
The Park
Since we got an early start we were ready to get to the park and check things out. Last time we visited Philadelphia we were in town to see the Phillies host the Mets in a legit barn burner at The Vet. They'd since torn down that eyesore and built a park that's more true to the game.
We arrived at the park and one thing we noticed that hadn't changed was the parking situation. Similar to the old Vet, parking was this endless desert of pavement that went on and on. As we got closer to the park one of the first things we noticed was a bar build into one corner of the structure. We never saw a bar/restaurant that was part outside, part inside the park before. The Jake had an innovative restaurant in left field.
