7/13/08 - Padres v. Braves
Petco has an old "western metal supply co." Building in left field they converted into quasi-luxury seatin that they call "party suites" and rooftop bleachers. Reminiscent of the rf rooftop seats the added to fenway. Also reminiscent to the clandestine rooftop seats found at the independently overlooking buildings at wrigley.
Sandbox area with tiered grass bleachers in rf. Spacious grass hill behind the sandbox/bleacher area allows for picnic/ blanket viewing of th game.
Stadium is designed to deliberately include surrounding residential buildings and commercial space into the immediate area giving it an open feel.
Located very close to the gaslamp quarter and the convention center.
Bullpens heavily favor the home team since the home bullpen is in a walled off area in lf but the visitors have to warm up in foul terratory down the 1B line. This is also interesting since the home team occupies the 1B dugout.
Some old lady stroked out in the middle of the aisle. Ed was stuck down below the mezzanine for about 30 mins. Why did it take so long to haul her out of there?
